Wambui - Goddess Melanin

PR Lead & Voice of the Project

I create spaces, stories, and experiences that move people—across borders and within themselves. Born and raised in Kenya in a conventional African family, I’ve always been drawn to a different path—one shaped by freedom, movement, and deeper connection. At 21, I left home to live and work on the island of Lamu as a journalist, marking the beginning of a life lived beyond borders. Since then, I’ve spent almost 14 years moving between roles in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, and Events—working across industries while maintaining a location-independent lifestyle and traveling with my laptop as my base.

My early nomadic years took me along the coast of Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, working remotely while on the move. That time revealed both the freedom and the realities of this lifestyle—unreliable infrastructure, isolation, and the challenge of finding real community while constantly in motion. In 2020, I turned inward through meditation and self-inquiry, which reshaped how I move through life: with more clarity, intention, and grounding.

Later, I moved to Europe and continued working remotely while navigating life in a new environment. Alongside the freedom, I experienced the deeper need for connection, belonging, and shared spaces while living and working online. This led me into community living, where I helped co-create and run a co-living and co-working space in nature—an experience that deepened my understanding of intentional connection and shared living.

That’s why I’m part of the journey of creating this connecting platform: to make it easier for people to find where to go, how to go, and who to go with. A space where travel is not only about movement, but about access, opportunity, shared skills, and meaningful community. Because travel should not be limited to one way of living—it should be open, connected, and human. Move freely. Live intentionally. Find your people.
